The once mighty EcoQuest International, seller of several different kinds of air purification systems for your home and office, is no more. Yes, you can still buy EcoQuest air purifiers, but the company name, many of the products names and all traces of the entity once known as EcoQuest now reside on the ash heap of history.
Some time early last year (2009) EcoQuest was acquired by Aerus Holdings based in Dallas Texas because of some serious financial implications. EcoQuest was on the verge of bankruptcy yet still had a valuable worth because of their still in demand air purification systems. The company limped along with the EcoQuest name and late last year the decision was made to change the name of the company to Vollara. And consequently back in January or early February the name was changed over to the brand new company.
EcoQuest International was famous for the Fresh Air by EcoQuest and the Living Air Classic, two of its most popular machines and the units that kept the company alive for almost 20 years. These air cleaning systems will keep fresh air in your home, office, restaurant, warehouse or any enclosed space up to 3,000 square feet. They work on the principle of cleaning the air where it is at in your house rather than filtering it through the machine as many air filters do.
The way these machines do this is to use ionization and ozone to pull dust and particles out of the air and the ozone will get rid of all kinds of odors and kill germs. These air purifiers have since been renamed the FreshAir Surround for the Fresh Air by EcoQuest and the Living Air Classic has been renamed the ClassicAir since Vollara is the companies new name.
The names of all the supplements the company sells have been renamed as well since the supplement division has changed it’s name from Infinity Nutritionals to Heartland Select to Vollara. Vollara has just incorporated all its businesses under one name.
The first name of the air purifier company was Alpine Industries and it lasted from the 1980’s until it was renamed EcoQuest International some time around 2000 when mlm guru Mike Jackson took the helm. The company and this particular brand of air cleaning technology was created by a man named Bill Converse in Michigan back in the 80’s. Mr converse has not been a part of the company since around 2005.
EcoQuest did run into some serious financial difficulties and that may be why the new company of Vollara was started. Hopefully the financial troubles are behind the company and they can concentrate on what they do best and that is to sell air purifiers and offer a home business opportunity to anyone willing to work.
We will wait and see what the future has to hold for Vollara.
EcoQuest International air purification systems are one of the top selling air purifiers in the nation. Over one million Fresh air purifiers have been sold through EcoQuest’s network of independent distributors in the last 20 years or so.
The Fresh Air by EcoQuest is of course the company’s best selling filter and sells for an estimated $749 retail, but if you deal directly with EcoQuest representatives, you may be able to get one of their systems for much less.
With the economic times as bad as they are throughout the nation, some dealers are willing to make deals just to sell their products. One piece of evidence that the value of these units has dropped to some people is their current price in auctions on eBay.
While these Fresh Air purifiers used to sell for over $400 on a regular basis, now regularly fetch under $300 and some go for under $200. I was able to find one unit sold in the last month that went for over $400, but that is only a single unit when many of these purifiers have sold form $450 or more on eBay in the past.
One warning about buying an air purifier from EcoQuest on eBay though, if you do purchase one on eBay, it will probably not be covered by their 3 year warranty because dealers are not authorized to sell them through this venue.
But you have to make th echoice for yourself as to whether you want to pay $749 for one of these filtration and purification systems and get a warranty or if you want to save maybe $300 or $400 and forgo the warranty.
Whatever you pay though, these fresh air machines do a great job of leaving your home clean and fresh smelling and they do get rid of odors and dust.
Back on June 30, 2004 EcoQuest International’s Fresh Air purifier was officially recognized as Certified Space Technology™.
The Fresh Air machine by EcoQuest uses technology that was originally developed in cooperation with NASA to keep its spacecraft’s air clean by removing airborne pathogens. Titanium Dioxide (Ti02), a photocatalytic substance, was discovered to reduce hydrocarbons in enclosed spaces. The Fresh Air by EcoQuest uses a similar application of Titanium Dioxide in a UV activated photocatalytic system to essentially clean the air indoors.
