The Fresh Air by EcoQuest is of course the company’s best selling filter and sells for an estimated $749 retail, but if you deal directly with EcoQuest representatives, you may be able to get one of their systems for much less.

With the economic times as bad as they are throughout the nation, some dealers are willing to make deals just to sell their products. One piece of evidence that the value of these units has dropped to some people is their current price in auctions on eBay.

While these Fresh Air purifiers used to sell for over $400 on a regular basis, now regularly fetch under $300 and some go for under $200. I was able to find one unit sold in the last month that went for over $400, but that is only a single unit when many of these purifiers have sold form $450 or more on eBay in the past.

One warning about buying an air purifier from EcoQuest on eBay though, if you do purchase one on eBay, it will probably not be covered by their 3 year warranty because dealers are not authorized to sell them through this venue.

The cleaning kit sounds like a great idea until you find out the price. At a cost of $59 you can probably buy a lot of bottles of Windex and toothbrushes. My prefered cleaning method always seems to work just fine. Spray one side of the plate thoroughly with Windex or another ammonia based glass cleaner, scrub the wire mesh vigorously in one direction with a toothbrush, turn the plate 90 degrees and scrub vigorously again in the same direction across the wire mesh, flip the plate over and repeat.

Here’s one of those things:

Deodorizing old tennis shoes - Take your worst smelling pair of old tennis shoes and put them in front of your Fresh Air by EcoQuest air purifier. Make sure your shoes are in a position that they will get adequate air flow through them. Turn on the Fresh Air machine and turn on Sanitize for 2 to 4 hours.

You might want to do this in a garage or in a separate room of your house so the smell isn’t too strong for your family.

After 2 to 4 hours the smell from the tennis shoes should be gone. If it still lingers repeat the process for another 2 to 4 hours with your air purifier from EcoQest International.
